This activity is suitable for young and old and is great fun. Witkruisarend trail: This part is clearly marked and escape routes are also available. It is recommended that you walk the difficult parts of the route first. Winter trek trail: This route is situated on the farm Zoutrivier, a working sheep farm in the Montagu-Touwsrivier area. One half of the farm is located on what is known around here as the Highveld, and the other half is typical Karoo veld, where one would find a variety of Karoo herbs like ganna, skaapkaroo, bitterkaroo and many species of succulent. Another remarkable feature of this area is the vast amount of fossilised rock, dating back millions of years to when the Karoo was still under the sea. This is a two-day drive, and there is overnight accommodation available in a a lodge and in the reserve. Karoo Adventures has made another exciting addition to their adventure activities, a Zip Slide. There are six platforms and slides that vary in speed and height. The launching and landing platforms and network of cables spanning the canyon do not impact adversely on the landscape. The slide is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays only.
